One Deck Dungeon is a dice and card game by Asmadi. To play, you pick a dungeon, prepare a deck, and battle your way through by rolling dice to try to match or beat the challenge ratings. Its quite a fun game, but loses its replay value after a while. There is also an expansion known as One Deck Dungeon: Forest of Shadows, also by Asmadi. It can be played by itself or with the original. My rating: 3 1/2 out of 5 stars.

We all know how hard it is to be quarantined during COVID19. I have my top three book series to binge-read during quarantine.
Number one: The Unwanteds by Lisa McMann. So, I know I’ve featured this series already, but it is still a GREAT quarantine binge-read series, having artistic magic, love and strife, exploration, and so much more, anyone can easily immerse themselves in the world of Artime.
Number two: Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling. This seven book series is probably one of the most famous. With magic, friendships, rivalies, Good vs. Evil, and much more, it’s sure to captivate anyone, young or old.
Number three: Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer. An amazing series, complete with magic, fairies, war, friendships, and adventures from Ireland to Chicago and back, this is a MUST-READ for quarantine. Note: Eoin Colfer also wrote And Another Thing, the sixth book in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy Trilogy by Douglas Adams.
Have fun reading these books, stay home, and stay safe!

QUICK READ NOTE: Anything from the amazing author Gordon Korman is a can’t-miss, and the Erin Hunter Warriors series is another great read.
Going Wild is a trilogy (that means it’s three books long!) by one of my favorite authors, Lisa McMann. It’s about a girl named Charlie who’s family moves from Chicago, Illinois to Navarro Junction, Arizona. Just before they leave Chicago, Charlie finds a mysterious bracelet. After they arrive in Arizona, Charlie finds the bracelet again, and finds out it gives her the power of five different animals. Along with her new friends Maria and Mac, she must figure out how to get her powers under control. Later, they find two more bracelets, and find out the bad guy’s final goal. Then, they must band together with others who know the secrets to defeat the evil Dr. Gray and his band of animal-human hybrids. Published by the company Harper. My recommendation: 5 and 1/2 out of 5 stars! 😛

Hey Guys! So TABS is short for Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. It’s not what you think though! It’s got cool (but not good, per-say :P) graphics, and absolutely no blood-shed. The point is, well, nothing really. You select a level, build your army, and hit START. The two armies rush at each other and duke it out. There are normal units such as archers or catapults, but also crazy stuff like snake archers (which shoot snakes out of bows!) and Zeus (who throws lightning bolts!) to things unimaginable like a giant holding a tree which he uses like a giant club! So, yeah, it gets pretty crazy. You can even make your own levels, and see what other people have made. It’s really fun. Although it gets a little boring once you’ve played enough. My Recommendation: 3 1/4 out of 5 stars.

P.S. TABS was published by Landfall.
Raft is a survival game by Red Beet Interactive where you are stranded on a raft (hence the name!) and must use your wits and hook to survive. For quite a while, the only thing you could do was float around the never-ending ocean, hoping to find an island and not be eaten by the shark. However, recently, they added a storyline, the update named “Raft: The First Chapter”. It added loads of new mechanics, new places to explore, a story, new enemies, new crafting recipes, and more. It also changed old mechanics, and I really like the game, even more now! 😛 So now I’m trying to find out the story, and having fun doing so. You can expand your raft, and do all kinds of things on it, including build full farms (both plants AND animals), build multiple levels, and more. The best way to survive when you start is: 1) gather materials to 2) build a grill and 3) a fishing rod, and also 4) build a purifier and 5) a plastic cup. You’ll also need 6) a building hammer to expand your raft, 7) a recipe table, and 8) a spear to fend off the shark. My rating: * * * * out of * * * * *.

The Unwanteds is a 7-book series by Lisa McMann and published by Aladdin. The series is about the teenager Alex Stowe as he learns magic in the world of Artime, which uses magic based on art, including sculpture, painting, theater, and more. Every year the island city Quill purges 13 year old kids, dividing them in Wanted, Necessary, or Unwanted. The Unwanteds are eliminated, supposedly being tossed into the Great Lake of Burning Oil. However, they are really sent to the world of Artime, and so they are saved. Lisa McMann has also written a follow-up series called The Unwanteds Quests. My rating for The Unwanteds: 5 out of 5 stars. My rating for The Unwanteds Quests: 4 and 3/4 out of 5 stars.

Just Shapes and Beats is an immensely fun ( and frustrating 😛 ) game published by Berzerk Studio. I play on the computer, but you can also play on loads of other platforms. The goal of each level is to move your little blue square around to avoid the pink areas. It is EXTREMELY helpful to have the volume on or at least wear headphones. There is an awesome story mode, but there is also a free play mode and you can even play online with other people. I highly recommend it for any gamer, but you do have to have quick reflexes and extreme patience to get anywhere. No matter how good a gamer you are, you WILL find yourself rage quitting! My Recommendation: 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.
